How do I install? 
Most of our customers install the rolls in one of the following ways

• Install using T Posts
• Install using round metal posts
• Install using concrete posts

It is also possible to install onto wooden posts using staples to attach the mesh to the wood.

What gauge (thickness) of wire do I actually need for a garden fence?
When picking wire thickness, remember: the lower the gauge number, the thicker and stronger the wire.

• 1.7mm / 15 Gauge+: Perfect for standard residential garden borders, domestic pets, and light boundary marking.
• 2.5mm / 12-Gauge+: Our heavy-duty commercial grade. Ideal for high-security perimeters, public parks, allotments, and larger dogs that lean or jump against the fence.

Should I choose Galvanised or PVC Green?
Both options offer outstanding rust protection, but they suit different aesthetic needs:

• Galvanised Chain Link: Features a hot-dipped zinc finish for maximum industrial durability and traditional, heavy-duty perimeter protection.
• Green PVC-Coated Chain Link: Features a galvanised steel core wrapped in a weather-resistant PVC jacket. The dark finish helps the fence blend seamlessly into hedges, garden borders, and foliage, making it significantly less visible than bright metallic wire.

Does the chain link fence come with tensioning wire?
No, the tensioning wire is not included in the price of a chain link fence roll and needs to be purchased separately. 2 strands of tensioning wire (top and bottom) are needed for chain link up to 1m high and above that, 3 strands (top, middle and bottom) are needed.  

How deep in the ground do fence posts need to be?
The posts should be 1/3 the length of the post.  For example:

• 6ft post = 2ft in the ground
• 5ft post = 1.6ft in the ground
• 4ft post = 1.3ft in the ground

How much concrete do you need for a post?
For an average size post, you will need around 150mm of concrete.

Can I install chain link fence posts without pouring concrete?
For long-term structural stability, corner, end, and gate posts must always be set in concrete because they bear the full tension when pulling the wire mesh tight. However, for intermediate line posts in firm soil, driven post options can be used.

Can a fox climb a chain link fence?
Yes, believe it or not, they can. Opt for a fence that is over 6ft / 1.8m high, for the best chance of keeping them at bay.

Will standard chain link fencing keep my dog secured, or can they push underneath it?
Standard chain link fabric on its own can flex at the bottom if a dog actively tries to dig or push through. To stop it from flexing, we recommend pairing your mesh with our 2-3mm thick High-Tensile Line Wire and Hog Rings pinned along the bottom edge to anchor it taut to the ground.

How much fence post hardware and line wire do I need for a 25-meter roll?
To complete a standard 25-meter run correctly, you will typically need:

• One 25m Chain Link Mesh Roll (available in 0.9m, 1.2m, 1.5m, or 1.8m and 2.4m heights).
• Straining / Corner Posts for both ends and any direction changes.
• Intermediate Line Posts placed every 2.5m to 3m along the line.
• 2mm+ Straining Line Wire & Tying Wire (3 rows of line wire recommended for 1.5m and 1.8m tall fences).
